Bridgette and Root 49 Music End 2009 With A Bang!
ROOT 49 MUSIC CLAIMS #1 PLAYED SONG OF 2009
“She’s Country” Hits Top of Year-End Media Base Chart
Root 49 Music and their writers, Bridgette Tatum and Danny Myrick, earned the titled of “Most Played Song of 2009” according to MediaBase with their #1 hit, “She’s Country,” recorded by Jason Aldean. “She’s Country” was the first outside cut for the Tatum/Myrick writing team and, along with Root 49 Music, their first #1 song (April 20, 2009).
Aldean debuted “She’s Country” on the on the 42nd Annual CMA Awards in November 2008 and the song quickly caught fire connecting with country music fans everywhere. “She’s Country” landed the #1 spot on iTunes all-genre ringtone chart and was included in the Rock Band video game. The subsequent album, Wide Open, sold over 108,000 units its first week and was recently certified Platinum marking one million in album sales.
Singer/songwriter Bridgette Tatum was quickly signed to a record deal with Root 49 Records and has been touring the country in support of her debut radio single, “(I Like My) Cowboys Dirty.” She’ll release her debut album, Sex, Church & Chicken, in the Spring of 2010.
Danny Myrick, who also produced Tatum’s debut album, had success as the lead vocalist for Western Flyer writing songs such as “Western Flyer” and “Cherokee Highway.” Myrick penned Craig Morgan’s “International Harvester” and Big & Rich’s “Loud.” He’s currently on the country charts with Gloriana’s “How Far Do You Wanna Go” and Kate & Kacey’s “Dreaming Love.”
